Lupine holographic print

$35.00

5×10” print on holographic cardstock paper.

Lupines are a type of wildflower common in the Mountain West and the Mediterranean. Known as a “pioneer species”, lupines thrive in nutrient-poor soil (such as burn scars) and play a vital role in paving the way for other plants to repopulate degraded areas. As nitrogen fixers, their long taproots bring nutrients and water from deep underground to the surface and keep the soil in place to prevent erosion while the land recovers.

Their seeds are edible and are a high-protein alternative to soybeans, an important food for indigenous North Americans, ancient Egyptians, and Romans.
