Red Rocks Amphitheater has been voted best small outdoor music venue numerous times, and I’m inclined to agree. The amphitheater's rocks are named "Creation Rock" on the north, "Ship Rock" on the south, and "Stage Rock" to the east. This study is of Ship Rock, to the right of the stage. Considered sacred by 32 American Indian tribes, its walls contain records dating back to the Jurassic period of 160 million years ago.
