Bear Peak
Bear Peak
6×6” acrylic on 1.5” thick gallery-wrapped cotton canvas. Hand signed and dated on the back. Certificate of Authenticity included.
I painted this to commemorate my completion of Boulder’s Skyline Traverse in spring of this year. The Skyline is a classic 18-mile route that summits the five major peaks overlooking the city from south to north: South Boulder Peak, Bear Peak, Green Mountain, Flagstaff Mountain, and Mount Sanitas. With over 6,000 ft of elevation gain, it took me and a few friends around 9 hours and many, many snacks to complete. I’m proud to say that I only really struggled with the last peak, which is better than I expected to do! I’d like to do a larger version of this piece in the future.
I donate a portion of every sale to the National Park Foundation and the National Park Conservation Association to help protect these incredible places.
