Scarp Ridge Loop is a 4.3-mile hike near Crested Butte, CO. It climbs from beautiful Lake Irwin up to a ridge with a 360-degree view of the surrounding peaks, including Mount Emmons, Purple Peak, Ruby Peak, Mount Crested Butte, and even the distant Maroon Bells. I was staggered by the expansiveness of the view, which neither photo nor painting can convey. This hike is such a great bang for your buck!
