Flatiron Sunrise print
Flatiron Sunrise print
Archival giclée print on museum-quality hot press cotton paper. Comes in 5x7”, 12 x 16”, 18 x 24”, and 24 x 30” sizes.
The iconic Flatirons as seen from North Boulder where I call home. At sunrise they often glow bright orange or pink, especially after it snows. Bear Peak and South Boulder Peak can be seen on the left, with Green Mountain on the right.
The Flatirons are part of the 280-million-year-old Fountain Formation, originally part of the Ancestral Rocky Mountains. They flipped up from their horizontal position during the uplifting of the modern Rockies around 65 million years ago. The trees at the bottom of the painting are important native Colorado species: Douglas fir, blue spruce, and ponderosa pine.
