Lion’s Lair trail, one of my favorite trails in Boulder, is an excellent alternative route to the peak of Mount Sanitas. Popular with trail runners because of its gentle grades and relative lack of crowds, it’s a great year-round trail which can be kept to a 4 mile out-and-back or lengthened into a 5-mile loop through Sanitas Valley.
