Mount Sanitas print
Mount Sanitas print
Archival giclée print on hot press cotton paper. Printed locally in Boulder, CO.*
Mount Sanitas is an iconic Boulder peak. I chose to paint it as seen from Chautauqua to the South because from this perspective, the entirety of Mount Sanitas, Sanitas Valley, and Dakota Ridge are visible, telling the visual story of this dynamic landscape. I find the geological structure of these foothills to be fascinating, uplifted from the bedrock millions of years ago.
There are several ways to reach this iconic 6,863-ft peak: the most popular route is up the South ridge from the Centennial trailhead, followed by the East ridge and finally Lion’s Lair trail to the West. Completing the loop with a stroll down the Sanitas Valley trail offers a gentle ending to a moderately difficult hike.
*24×36” prints are made to order and will ship up 5-10 business days from the order date.
I donate a percentage of all proceeds to the National Park Foundation.
