Flatirons Vista print

from $30.00

Archival giclée print on hot press cotton paper. Printed locally in Boulder, CO.*

The iconic rock formations known as the Flatirons line the eastern slope of Green Mountain, the third highest point in Boulder. I wanted to paint the Flatirons as seen from the East, as this was how I first glimpsed them when first arriving in Boulder. The distance and angle tell a clearer story of the movement and upheaval of this landscape, which I find fascinating.

The Flatirons, along with the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, belong to a layer of rock called the Fountain Formation. They were lifted and tilted into their present orientation between 80 and 35 million years ago during the formation of the Southern Rocky Mountains.

*24×48” prints are limited edition, signed and numbered. These sizes are made to order and will ship up to 10 business days from the order date.

I donate a portion of all proceeds to the National Park Foundation and the National Parks Conservation Association.
