Twin Peaks
Twin Peaks
8 × 10” acrylic & oil on panel
This view of Twin Peaks, as seen from the small town of Twin Lakes near Independence Pass in Colorado, is from a spring camping trip with my teenage niece. She was brave enough to fly out from North Carolina and try whitewater rafting for the first time on the Arkansas River! We had a blast, and camping near Twin Lakes was beautiful and serene. Mount Elbert towered over us, the lakes were full, and the river raged.
The 13,341-foot Twin Peaks are 8 miles East of the Continental Divide in the Collegiate Peaks, a sub-range of the Sawatch Range. Water from the Twin Lakes below the peaks drains into the Arkansas River to the South.
This work comes varnished and framed in a maple floater frame.
I donate a percentage of all proceeds to the National Park Foundation.
