Hiking Emerald Lake Trail was the first experience I had in Rocky Mountain National Park when I first moved to Colorado in 2015. While painting this piece, it was a joy to revisit the memory of seeing this place for the first time with my mom and sister. To get to the lake, we hiked 3.2 miles starting from Bear Lake, passing Nymph and Dream Lakes on the way up. It’s one of the most popular hikes in the park for good reason!
