Iceberg Lake was one of my two favorite hikes in Glacier National Park. I combined it with the Ptarmigan Tunnel trail, making it a 15-mile day. The deep blue of the lake surrounded by towering 1,000 ft peaks was breathtaking, and the cold water was perfect for my sore knees. I sat for an hour and completed a sketch of this view, but had to head back as the sun was setting. I got a late start on this hike because a family of moose was blocking the trail, holding up 10 or 12 hikers for an hour before they decided to move off the trail.
